There are two parts to the the disc golf tournament that integral to the overall experience.
- The ‘Bag’ (see here)
- The Jackass shirt
The Jackass shirt serves as reminder for the wearer of their futility in the last round of disc golf and to play better in the current round of disc golf play.
The Jackass shirt has a graphic on the back lettered with the word ‘Jackass’ and the shirt used to be lettered on the front with the words ‘ANW Jackass’. Sadly, most of the letters on the front have fallen off over the years.
The rules around the Jackass shirt are the following:
1. At the start of the tournament each year the player awarded ‘The Meat’ for worst performance in the previous year’s tournament must put on the Jackass shirt and wear the shirt that entire round.
In this image we see a very rare occurrence…Peeve wearing the Jackass shirt. In the image with Peeve is Dag on the left and Leo, wearing the ‘ANW overalls’ that were lost in the house fire as well.
2. At the conclusion of the 1st round the scores are tallied and the brother with the highest score for that round must wear the shirt in the next round of tournament play.
3. The Jackass shirt has one other stipulation. It must NOT be washed. Ever. There is a rumor that the shirt was washed after one of the brothers homes was involved in a fire.
Note that The Jackass shirt does not come into play during non-tournament play.
