2014 ANW Disc Golf Tourney Preview

Introduction
The latter part of 2014 was spent putting together this web site and getting the Disc Golf scores over the years tabulated and posted. Based on the analysis of the scores as well as the health condition and well-being of the players what follows is a prediction for the winner of the 2014 ANW Disc Golf tourney.

Keep in mind that the order of finish has not changed much over the years with Cow, Peeve and Vin generally in the top 3 and Leo, Dag and Gapp the second tier of players.

Cow
In Cow we have a player who has been dominant over the last few years. Excellent dwiving skills and stellar putting have lead the way. This year however Cow may be hobbled by some health issues which could spill over onto the field of play. While there are lingering issues with his health the will to win is undeniable and Cow could be a force by simply sowing rumor, challenges and general vocal mayhem.

Peeve
Over the last 4 years Peeve has averaged 7+ strokes back in the 2nd place campaigns of 2011, 2012 and 2013 and there was a win in 2010. Peeve’s downfall could be that he gets over-served on the course.

Vin
Vin has averaged 18.5 strokes back and no wins in the last 4 years. Vin usually plays with the leaders but he is one train wreck of a round away from falling out of contention. Vin is a real threat to take the trophy this year and Peeve would do well to watch Vin’s play and press on holes via shot challenges.

Leo
In Leo we have a wild card among the 2nd tier of players. Leo was consistent in the 2013 campaign with an average of 57 for 4 rounds and was only 5 strokes back from Peeve for 2nd and two strokes back for 3rd. Should Leo continue his consistent play while Peeve and Vin fight it out for first place he could slip into the mix and finish in the top 3.

Dag
Who? Dag that’s who! Dag’s play over the years has become consistent. Good dwiving and improved putting skills have greatly helped. Oddly Dag’s been quiet all year as if he’s plotting something. It could be that he’s has been out practicing and consuming heavily to build his tolerance.

Me
Your friendly neighborhood editor? I’ve got a lot riding on this year. There could be a lot of “That was a 2…right?” going on. Fifth is within reach with a stumble by Dag or Leo. Fifth or gefelta fish.

Prediction
Assuming that Cow’s health issues are detrimental to his game it will Peeve by 4 strokes over Vin.
