Disc Golf\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Disc Golf tournament is a tradition that has been a part of ANW since 1998.\u00a0 The rules are quite similar to normal disc golf.\u00a0 The exceptions are few, but important.<\/p>\n

The biggest difference has to do with the targets for each hole.\u00a0 Instead of the normal basket found on a typical course, ANW targets are all natural parts of the course.\u00a0 They could be trees, rocks, fences or sign posts.<\/p>\n

Also different is that all hazards are playable, giving new and exciting meaning to the term “play it where it lies”.\u00a0 For example, a disc that ends up in the water, must be played from the water.\u00a0 If a disc is in a tree, the player must climb the tree and\u00a0take their next shot while making contact with the spot in the tree where the disc was stuck.<\/p>\n

Another key difference is that each player MUST<\/strong> have an open beer at all times on the course.\u00a0 Failure to do so will result in a penalty (see ANW Rules<\/a> for more information about penalties).<\/p>\n

Scoring is the same as traditional golf.\u00a0 Each hole is assigned a “Par”.\u00a0 In the ANW tourney there is an added incentive to get a low score.\u00a0 Players who finish a hole with a double bogie or higher must consume a shot of George Dickle Whiskey<\/a> as a penalty.<\/p>\n

A penalty\u00a0is\u00a0also assessed for a lost disc.<\/p>\n

The tournament consists of four rounds of 18 holes.\u00a0 One round played on Thursday, one on Friday and the final two rounds on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The winner of the tournament gets the honor of taking home the coveted ANW disc golf trophy for the year.\u00a0 This trophy must be displayed prominently in the winners home.<\/p>\n

The last place player of the tournament also receives a trophy – a can of Potted Meat Food Product mounted to the sawn-off base of a white pine stump.\u00a0 This must also be prominently displayed in the home of the recipient.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
