ANW 2016 is over!

ANW 2016 is over. A great time had by all.

In the Washer ‘Championship of the World’ tourney, it was looking pretty grim for the 3FG’s. Vin was throwing like a 100 year old Grandma with back problems, nothing was falling for Gapp or Cow.

The LB’s were celebrating, prancing around like a bunch of…well, see it here.

Suddenly, like a lightning strike from a clear blue sky, The 3FG’s roared back and won the ‘Washer’s Championship of the World’ trophy in a stunning comeback!

It’s never over till it’s OVER!!

Editors Note: Today was a big day for ANW. All but Vin went on a trip to Eastern Market for supplies. Cow went strong on the penalties (see Rule #3 here). 11 in fact. He has a set a personal record as well as a All Nicotine Weekend record. Congratulations Cow! For those curious to know how many shots are in a fifth see here.

ANW 2016, ANW Banter

A rant by Peeve

The group received this gem of a text from Peeve earlier today:

was just perusing the ANW website again to check out past scores…

I for some reason always have a blow up round and (using an ANW saying listed on the website) I’m Out.

F’n sucks I can’t hold it together.

I’m bringing my A game this year.

I think another reason Cow wins is lack of consumption…

Obviously he doesn’t get doubles and that fair since he earns those, but on course beer consumption is LOW…

Im going to try and keep track of that this year.

I think that this rant was triggered by ‘Cow’ letting everyone know that there should be a rule change just to make the tourney interesting for him. To Cow’s credit he has won for the last 5 years.Peeve has come close in the last 2 years.

Proposals include:

  1. Remove a stroke from your score by doing a shot of the ‘Chinese shit’ (I think it’s ‘Baijiu’, a absolutely horrific liquor)
  2. Get an ace on a hole, the score for that hole is zero
  3. A player is allowed to replay one hole per round (maybe just the tourney)

#1 is looking like a winner.

Love to see the banter getting turned up.

ANW 2015, Disc Golf

Leo’s errant shot during ANW 2015

On the first round of the ANW 2015 Disc Golf tourney Leo made a tee shot on hole #6 that went… wrong. I think he was throwing with some underhand inside goofy footed nonsense motion.

Anyway, we couldn’t find his disc anywhere (SHOT!).  The next morning while walking the course to take pictures of the holes (see the newly documented course here) Dag and I found the disc high in a tree.

Now, considering that Leo is supposed to play the disc from WHEREVER it lies, it would have been entertaining to see that play out. He was awarded a shot for his efforts.
